For us members the organisers are there to help us if we have problems to work through it with the management, then I know exactly what my rights are and that they are being protected

When people join together and be part of the union we are helping each other have support and rules for work, I dont want to be the one standing alone!

It's the protection of your job, it makes sense to be protected

It’s peace of mind, it’s just like ringing a friend and knowing they are there for you plus they know all the answers.

May Day 2019

Go Back
  • 29th April 2019

Once again, the SDA will be participating in this year’s May Day celebrations.

This year we will be celebrating on Sunday 5 May 2019, from 10 am until 2pm, at Fremantle Esplanade.

ACTU President Michelle O'Neil will be the keynote speaker at May Day 2019. Her speech will start at 10:30 am.

May Day recognises the achievements of working people and acknowledges the significance of the eight-hour working day.

The May Day march will commence at 12 pm, with Unions and community groups walking side by side, celebrating solidarity.

The focus for the Festival is to create a free and fun day out on the green and to celebrate all that we enjoy about spending time with friends and families.
